I really enjoyed the jail tour. We got a chance to go in the mental health ward, went to the d-block where we actually got to talk to some of the less dangerous inmates and saw the area where a lot of the medium dangerous criminals hang out. The officers were pretty chill and told some good stories. Definitely ask about night train. :)
I enjoyed it alot because it was cool to know how they run the place and we got to go and see some of the inmates that weren't harmful and they told us what was expected and it was to not do anything stupid when you're young. I also enjoyed the stories the guy told us about inmates that did some crazy stuff. It could have been cooler if they took us to more interesting things but they wouldn't let us so that was disappointing.
I liked the jail tour because I thought it was fun and interesting. We got to realize how jail truely is and hear true stories of victims. Hearing the victims tell us to not end up there just shows how bad it is. I liked how they took us around the jail but I also wish that they took us to more areas of the jail so we could get the full experience. In all I enjoyed the trip.
I liked going to the jail because it got to show life behind the bars. It was kind of nerve-wracking at first because they have some inmates walking around. But that was only because they earned that status. I also liked to listen to the stories the officers told us about some of the really crazy inmates. It was a fun experience overall.
I liked the jail tour because I've always wanted to see how bad jail was, and it was an eye-opener for me. I wasn't even arrested and I wanted to leave because it was so dirty and gross and depressing. I liked how we got to see all of the different areas of the jail, like the holding cells, the mental ward, and the cells where they keep criminals before they go to their different cell blocks. The officers were funny and told us cool stories, but I wish they would've taken us to the women's ward and max security, and the gun range, because that would've been cool.
I did not attend the Macomb County Jail tour, however I did enjoy learning about "the system" during this class.
I liked the jail tour because we went to buffalo wild wings and ive always wanted to see what jail was like
I enjoyed the tour of the jail because we saw real criminals and how their lives were behind bars. We got to visit various wards in the jail and see how bad it is to be there as a criminal. it was also interesting to hear the many stories from the guards.
I thought it was really cool to visit the jail. I knew jail was bad but i never realized how bad it actually is. I liked how we got to see all the prisoners and talk to one of them. It really made me think differently.
I enjoyed the trip to the jail, it gave much insight into what the lives of a convicted criminal are like. It reenforced many of the things were learned in class. I also enjoyed watching all the inmates check out Raquel as she walked by
I really enjoyed the jail tour. While on the tour I learned a lot and I was able to see just how truly awful jail is. It is dank and dark and there is no way that it is a comfortable place for anyone to be. I was uncomfortable at certain points in time when I was around the inmates who were walking around. I enjoyed the multiple stories and anecdotes that were shared by the officers, they not only entertained me but they also helped me to learn more and make the trip an overall enlightening experience.
my expirence at the macomb county jail was not as i expected it to be. what they showed me were things that were a little different but not much than what i expected. the prisoners still got to do their daily routines of the day like eating, sleeping, and using the bathroom. not much freedom is shown is jail but that is expected. msot of the prisoners that we met were on drugs. so i learned not to do drugs and i wont go to jail.
I enjoyed the trip to the jail because i dont think any student had a full understanding on how the jail runs. We took tours of the gun range and talked to a few prisoners about what not to do. Overall, the trip was very succesful.
I enjoyed the jail tour because it helped to show us how the jail system works. It was also very interesting to see the jail and see what life is like for the prisoners.
the jail trip was very eye opening and made me feel bad for the people in there. I never want to go there it is a very nasty place.
I didn't go:(
I thought that the jail tour was really cool and interesting. You always hear about what jail is like but actually being there and seeing it was totally different. It was a little scary at some points being so close to the inmates. But overall, it was a cool experience and I really enjoyed it!
The jail tour was very interesting. We toured the observational center and got to see the inmates doing their recreational activities and got to go to the gun range although they wouldn't show us. I learned to pay my child support so i don't end up in jail and more about how the jail system works.
I did not go
Wasnt able to go due to dentsit appointment
I enjoyed the jail tour because it was very eye opening on how prisoners really do live. you never believe things like being in jail are real until you see it in real life. it was also really interesting to talk to the man who was in the holding cell.
I really liked going too the jail. it made me realize that not everyone in their is bad. someone could go in there for something as stupid as not paying child support. it opened my eyes, made me glad that ive never had too go there. saw D-Block where my dad was for a few days. haha.
Going to the jail was very cool and interesting to see how people live in there. It smelt really weird inside of there. We got to go to the mental health section and that was scary. I wish I could have seen like jail cells.
The jail tour was very interesting, I found the institution very intreging becasue
intriguing because its something I've never seen before, being so close to potentially dangerous inmates was thrilling. I would love to work in the law field and this was an amazing experience. The trial was really boring at the time i was in the court room but the case was interesting and i wish i could have seen more.
Going to the jail made me realize even more that breaking the law is bad and that I don't want to end up there. The court house was fun and crazy because of the case going on right now.
Jail tour was intresting. My favorite part was holding the tommy gun in the gun range.
Really fun and interesting! Super cool experience...
Wish we could have spent more time in the jail though.
I realized jail is an awful place to be and I never want to end up there. It was interesting seeing what goes on and hearing about what its like to be in jail.
I really enjoyed the jail tour! I wish my group had gotten the chance to explore a little more, and even go into the mental health ward. It was interesting to see a different side to the world, something we haven't yet been exposed to. But my favorite part was sitting in on the trial at the court house.
The jail tour was interesting but I wish we got to see more inmates or talk to them. Its exactly how it sounds.. very boring and dirty. The court case about child abuse was very interesting and its cool to see that in person and not through a screen.
I enjoyed the jail tour because it was interesting to see how the inmates live and how many inmates are actually in the jail. Also being able to stand up in the tours and watch how the inmates live in there all day and what they do. Seeing the child abuse trial was pretty interesting also.
